What Is Dia Browser?
Dia Browser is a lightweight, AI-centered web browser developed by The Browser Company, the team behind Arc. Unlike Arc, which is tailored for power users who build complex workflows, Dia takes a minimalist approach, targeting users who prefer a simple, clean interface. It looks and feels similar to Chrome or Safari but integrates AI as a core part of the browsing experience.

Getting Started with the Dia Browser
Getting started with Dia is straightforward.
- Download and install:
To begin, download the installer for macOS. Dia is currently only available for Mac. - Create your account:
Launch the app and sign up using your email and a password. If you’re already part of the Arc ecosystem, you can use the same credentials. This will link your account across The Browser Company’s products. - Import from another browser (optional):
During setup, you’ll have the option to import bookmarks, history, saved passwords, and extensions from your current browser, such as Chrome, Safari, Edge, or Arc. This step is optional but useful for making a seamless transition. - Using the AI assistant
Once the browser is open, you can start using Dia’s built-in AI. Click the Chat button in the top-right corner of any tab to ask questions, summarize content, or get help writing text. The assistant can reference content from other open tabs using @tab-name, allowing for cross-tab comparisons like reviewing travel options or comparing product specs. - Accessing and customizing Skills
Dia includes a feature called Skills, which are prewritten prompts for common tasks like summarizing a webpage or extracting structured data. You’ll find the Skills menu on the new tab page. Dia stores content locally by default and only sends information to external AI services when you initiate a request. You can delete your data at any time through the browser settings.
